My older MX1000 is looking a trifle the worse for wear, but as it still works without an issue I am loath to spend £40+ on a replacement. Instead, I was wondering how feasible it would be to give it a paint job. So, with that in mind, does anyone know what sort of bits and bobs I'd need to do the job. I'm guessing that some fine sandpaper would be used on it initially, but then I'm a little lost. Undercoat, colour and then overcoat? What sorts of paints would I need?

Also, and this is somewhat of a long-shot, is there any way to refresh the surface of the grip area, which is also looking a little worn.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry Defiant, the forum subtitle says 'Cases and modding questions and answers' so I thought it was appropriate. Which forum would you want me to put it in?

Raikiri.

Thanks for the response. I've pretty awful at finding decent bargains, and like I said I'm pretty happy with the way the MX1000 works. It seems like a fun thing to do to add a little bit of personalisation to my kit with low risk for a first-timer at these things like me :).

Thanks for the sandpaper tip, I'll see what I need to grab that I don't have already.
