Ok, just had a minor scuff with another car. The story is, i was goin down a two lane road (a one way system) and a car started pulling out from my right and i had to move to the left fairly quickly (over into somebody elses lane parallel to me) and i hit his wing mirror. Anyway, he carried on and slowed down a bit and was givin the "effin ****" malarky, and then pulled up to the traffic lights (me on his right hand side) and just turned left at the traffic lights and burnt it off up the road. Anyway, i stopped in a nearby car park to check my wing mirror and it was fine, just bent in, but then i also discovered there was a minor indentation in my front wing and beginning of my door, but couldn't do anything with insurance or anything because he'd already driven off cos i guess he thought it was a wing mirror thing too.

Where do i stand?

Well if you have both swanned off then there is nothing you can do about it. I would just pay for a new mirror/ignore it.

well i was just expecting him to stop at a car park on the one way system (before the traffic lights) but he didn't, so he was at the traffic lights getting ready to turn left, i came up the right of him very slowly, he accelerated hard at the traffic lights and turned left before i'd even got near to the lights.

EDIT: just gettin all worried now because been searching google for "failure to stop at the scene of an accident" but i thought it was just a wing mirror thing and he drove off?

Thats the first thing that crossed my mind. He didn't seem like the kinda person to be overly enthusiastic about insurance, he was driving a beat up quite old car, and i thought most people would stop instantly, but he went off.

Btw, my wing mirror was 100% fine, but on the front WING and door at the bottom there was an indentation.

From your description it sounds like it was your fault. You could claim on your insurance without the third parties details for repairs to your own car.

Yeah tbh, it probably was my fault but if i hadn't theres a high chance i might have clipped the car pulling out from my right. I don't think i'll even bother claiming. At 18 it would be the worst nightmare putting 2 claims down on insurance websites. (already had one but it only came to about 300 quid for a scuff on a front bumper). And tbh from a distance of about 2 meters you can't see anythin on the car. but if you get closer the light shows the indentation. Lucky there is no paint come off, looks to be a straight indent. Keeping quiet about it atm, from the parents, if they discover it, then i'll claim i never even knew it was there and i bet it was some barstool in a car park that did it. :D
