On my first install of my SN26P, my single HD managed to get labelled as the F: for some reason and what must be the memory card readers got C: and D:. Is the only way to solve this to format, disconnect the memory card reader and reinstall Windows?

Yup, i had the same problem on an SD31P. I think you can change the drive letter of a windows drive with 3rd party software, but i'm not sure how reliable it is.

Cant you just disconnect the memory card reader from mobo, restart pc and within properties of My computer reassign Windows drive to C:?

Then shutdown and reattach card reader and restart?

I cant see it being imperative that you reinstall just for that, but I am only guessing

Just so you know this only happens on a completely-fresh install..

The best way to get around it if you don't wanna unplug anything is;

Select "create new partition" then, when it says "press enter" actually delete the one you just made, and when you re-create it'll be created as C:/ :cool:

FYI: If you've installed once, then its not neccesary to do this after a format.. it'll already reckognise it as C:/, I guarantee it.

Is it not possible to disable the card reader in the bios before installing windows?

nope, std practice is to remove the sm reader cable prior to OS installation

It is highlighted in every unofficial P series chassis setup guide I have read to date.

Welcome to Shuttle :)
