Minority Report Screen

They don't take money or pre-authorise at pre-order... only when ready to ship.

So you can order, even with only £0.01 in your account :)

When will they be ready to ship?

Edit: ordered, it said on the preorder page :D

I'm actually going to learn programming so I can set this up as a DJ tool. Holographics as well would be awesome :D

I think the future will be to interact in any and every way you see fit. So touch, voice and also keyboards will remain - although perhaps it will be a holographic keyboard that can appear when necessary. Switching between input methods will save the fatigue also.

Think, why raise your arm to point to flick through pictures when a computer can read your eyes darting to the side where the small thumbnail is.

Not to mention a lot of "mind-control" electrical devices are beginning to do more things.

Mind control is rather dangerous, i can only imagine the damage certain scenarios could do to ones brain.

Id rather stay away from it frankly.

Well I think currently it is more of a brain scanning device that sees electrical signals in an area and translates this into some computer command rather than anything that has any understanding of thoughts or mind. Certainly the gaming and Gadget Show versions I have seen.

Although in the medical world, there has obviously been implants to control mechanical arms, to help blind people "see" again and loads more examples.

I once posted a link to a jewellers on here that my friend runs the website for.
A couple of days later he spoke to me saying he had found my posts because he noticed the sudden influx of traffic from one site.

I imagine the same is now happening for leapmotion :p

huh?

unless you take the thing and wire it up to the mains then stick your head in the bath it's not going to do anything to you.

I'm possibly going to start writing a lot of apps with a friend for it. The DJing idea above, for one. Could make a business out of it :)

You can't say that with absolute certainty until you try a user interface that's been tailored to match.

Current touch/gesture interfaces are a bit cumbersome...

This to be honest, it seems like a really cool idea. And for the price, that's more than enough reason to support a pre-order. But what this could be like with a tailored interface, or some interaction with Windows 8, now that would be something.

Hence why I want to write either a program to interface it with Traktor, or a separate DJ program entirely.

Just consider the thought of only having to take a laptop to sets. And the possibilities for sound management and control with this :)
