A quick google shows that due to the fact there is no memory within the keyboard it cannot save the previous state, so in essence no there isn't a way to do it physically.
However, i'd be surprised if this couldn't be written into a script using something like autohotkey or similar software. I have scripts running all the time on my computers due to the fact my keyboards are ANSI layout and i don't have physical \ and | keys so i press windows key + z and x respectively. It's necessary as i use them a lot for programming. Not really a great fix, but it works for me and may work for you in this instance!
