I need to replace a poor quality cheapy waterfall tap (i was a fool) that has lasted a little over a year with something half decent, don't want to fork out too much but have found a decent looking Mira tap for a modest amount (£60), that comes with flexi hose etc so looks easy to change - my main question, are Mira taps any good?

I know they're known for their showers and just wanted to check that their taps aren't crappy Chinese imports...

Ive been told Grohe are supposed to be great. Dont know about Mira. As you say, they make great showers.

Might be worth asking over on diynot forums. The plumbers on there will know.

I had a mira mixer in the kitchen and it failed after about 5 years. Bought a Grohe from Amazon (absolute bargain) and had that about 2 years and been absolutely brilliant.

When I get new bathroom I will be getting all taps from Grohe.

Mira all seem pretty good stuff. I've had to replace a few cartridges in their showers but don't think I have heard of problems with the taps.

I'd tend to agree with post above though. Hansgrohe is excellent and not ridiculously priced if you shop around. It's what I have in my house.

Ditto on Hansgrohe.
Nice looking an functional taps and bar showers etc.
They used to sell old stock on eBay at quite a discount including the usual long warranty, it's where I bought mine from.

Always pay good money on taps and showers. These things get used a hell of a lot, people cheap out on these and get cruddy Chinese waterfall taps which get all Manky. Pay money for Grohe or hansgrohe even Bristan. Nothing else comes close. Mira showers are good as are triton...
