Mirror fixings?

Hi,

This is proving to be more difficult then it should be. I have a large mirror that has a large wood surround that I wish to attach to a wall with fixings that are hidden behind the mirror. (so nothing visible from the front, like when you mount a TV to a wall). What do I need? I can't find anything that looks heavy duty enough and think I might be searching for the wrong thing!

Thanks.

I would not be worried about the screws into the frame, the ones into the wall need to be twice that length!

Are your walls solid?

My Oak mirror probably weighs around 9kg at a guess and it just came with 2 D rings. I put 2x 70x5 screws into the wall at a slight angle downwards and then hung the D rings straight onto the screw heads. Just need to make sure you get the screws perfectly level as theres no adjustment if they aren't.

They do look very short, probably barely make it through the plaster into brick. My TV is barely any heavier and has several fairly long bolts going through the wall to hold it up.

We bought a decent sized mirror from B&Q not long back. Granted it wasn't the heaviest thing in the world it was still fairly big. We've stuck it on the wall with 4 of those command strips that people use to stick picture frames up etc.

The frame was no heavier than the weight limits it stated on the back of the pack and its still up there so it might be worth having a look!
