Mirror from iPhone to PC

Hi,

What's the best option for this? I want to play the games I do on the device on my PC.

Wireless or wired? Do I need an HDMI cable etc.

Physical connection is always going to be more reliable, so you could try one of these (link).

I know there are airplay apps available for the Apple TV which also do this, but I don't have any experience with the iPhone apps.

Apple is quite strict with the mirroring app in this aspect.You may check this post and see whether it works for you.

There is software called reflector, which uses AirPlay to mirror from iPhone to Mac/pc. (The software goes on your pc/Mac).

I've used it for my iPhone 6 and Macbook pro with great success.
