Hi,

I want to play emulators (ps2 etc) on my PC but stream them into my living room.

I used to just connect an HDMI cable and use that but in my new house I am limited from doing that.

I bought a new smart TV and have a google chromecast.

What is the best way I can mirror my PC to TV with audio?

I did use the Chromecast's mirror function but the audio didn't transfer over to the TV and it gives off a delay in audio to video from it.

Thanks

Have you tried Valves Steam In-Home streaming? Still a few compatibility bugs remaining but its getting better all the time.

You could either use a laptop plugged into your TV or buy a Steam Link (~£50) to stream content from your Steam Library on your Desktop. You can add none-Steam games/applications too.

You need a solid 30Mbps to get a great quality picture. Ethernet is preferred, people are reporting success with powerline adapters and newer AC wifi.

Before you do anything you should probably do some Googling to see how the emulator you want to use performs using In-Home Stream. Like I said its a bit hit & miss but compatibility is improving rapidly.

I have the PC wired in to the router and also the TV so connection shouldn't be an issue hopefully.

The only solid advance I've had is with Chromecast but like I said it didn't record audio..

I still have an old PS2 chipped, I may just see if there is a way to run emulators from that lol.

HDMI over ethernet? Although that will require a cable running from the TV to the PC.

Either way surely there will be a fair bit of latency hit? Why not a mini ITX system instead?
