Mirrored visors: cool, or squid?

Just gearing up for the summer and considering a dark smoke tinted or mirrored / iridium visor.

Personally I think the mirrored ones look cooler, but are they lame and squiddish? I have an internal visor actually (helmet is IS-17), but fancy trying a tinted or mirrored visor.

Any opinions on the practicality of mirrored vs tinted? I know they're both awful at night, this will only be used in the daytime.

Squid? Another terrible US term that's being adopted over here, like 'sick' (shudder)?

Mirrored visors make you look like a spaceman, so that's OK :-)

I use a dark smoke visor on my matte black lid, I just like imagining I'm Knight Rider or something.

I use a dark tint visor as well as the internal visor to avoid snow blindness!

Mirrored visors scream "attention whore" to me though.

Dark tint all the way - mirrored/iridium visors scratch pretty easily I've heard.

Oh and "Squid" isn't the right term, squidding is riding with no gear apart from a helmet, hence being all soft flesh, like a squid.

Get one with an internal drop-down sun visor and pretend you're Airwolf... kinda like me!!

If it's only for the daytime, get whatever you want.
I ride at all hours, so it's easier to just keep the clear on and drop teh sun visor if needs be. I'm usually going too fast for anyone to care what I look like anyways... !!

It's on my list for my next lid, but first I need to pass my tests and splash out on a big bike!

used to wear bark blue mirrored, then a black visor but now I stick with clear

to much of a pain if you have to pop out somewhere at night or night time catches you out, plus I hit a kerb due to a black visor

EDIT: you'll look very cool for pc plod when he decides to be a **** n pull you,buy pair of sunglasses?

*Ignore that, got mixed up!*

I've got an internal sun-visor but don't really use it much.

Just don't buy a Shoei GT Air, the internal visor is less than worthless.
I was actually thinking of getting a Shoei Neotec.
I started with Cabergs, as they were the only ones with Airwolf visors at the time. Moved on to Nolans afterward and went lid shopping the other day, since I'm now earning enough that I could potentially drop half a grand on a fancy lid...

However, my current lid is still plenty good for a while and I *was* thinking of going watercooled... even though OCUK has zero stock of any bits I actually want!!

Oh, the dilemma!! :D

I nearly stumped up for a Shoei GT Air the other week, luckily I didn't because a day or 2 later I decided to book my DAS course and the money I would have dropped on one of those pretty much covered the cost of my course :D

I've been eyeing up a Shark S900C.

Lucky escape, for the price I expected a lot better from mine. For £250-300 it would be a decent helmet for the price.
