Like i'm sure many others did, I bought Mirrors Edge through steam during the one day sales, never really intended to play it, but couldn't turn it down for £3 odd. Started playing it a few days back during a much needed break from COD:MW2 and didn't play anything else since.

I've just completed it and I have to say it has been years since any game gave me this feeling of achievement and accomplishment. I'm not talking about crappy 50 x kills to unlock a weapon attachment achievement, I mean I feel like I actually managed to beat the game.

One of the toughest yet most satisfying games i've played in the last 5 years at least, time for Hard mode now I think :D

I got it for free when there was that glitch on EA Store recently, I can see why people might like it but for those like me that disliked oldschool platformers, my advice is to give it a miss. I do think however that the platform genre has been overlooked in recent years which is probably why it has proved so popular, there hasn't been much else like it out during that time so it seems fairly innovative and unique, I suppose maybe Portal is the closest from mainstream releases.

It has been the best game I have played in 2009 to be honest :)
Took a few runs to get used to it to begin with though!

I find the PC controls to be unnecessarily clunky. The game itself is great, but they could have streamlined the keyboard mappings a bit better, and some of the moves are unnecessarily detailed - jump to a wall, brace yourself and jump away could easily be done with 2 buttons rather than 3. Still, it's enjoyable, and I probably would have played more had it not been the season for cheap Steam & D2D games, but my catalogue is a bit too full to get into it right now.

Disagree deadbeat - the jumps are details which makes it more satisfying to do them smoothly, I don't want simple overly assisted controls in games if I did, I'd be playing it on a console.

The only thing I hate about mirrors edge is the poor implementation of PhysX and the amount of cheaters on the scoreboard (3 seconds to complete a time trial is obviously a cheater).

Agree fully with the Op.

I almost feel bad for not buying this full price although I was all set to but it got some less than favourable reviews.

I really do hope they make a sequel.

Anyone know how well the game sold?

It was a gamble making something like this, I hope it paid off for them.

This, it's left open ended so I really hope a sequel is in the works. I just hope they don't overcomplicate it with extra hard moves or advance the combat too much. The simplicity is what made this game so appealing, I don't mean simple in play style, just simple in the aim of what you have to do.
