Mirrors Edge : How to disarm Ropeburn?

I'm stuck.

The part where he grabs you and throws you down a level then charges at you through a wooden fence.

I know I am supposed to disarm him but how on earth do you do it?.

It's the Right mouse button to disarm, innit?.

But when to time it for?. I've tried early, late, slo-mo time thingy.

But I still can't do it and end up being killed every time.

HALP!!!!

The weapon changes colour for disarm. Red iirc.

its very hard, like Draeger said its pot luck, took me ages to do it first time round, but the 2nd time (on Hard) i did it first time, so yes hit n miss really

Yep, it appears to be very hit/miss.

The whole game is actually rather annoying in certain places.

I can't help liking the game as its very original but it has that unique "bangs head of desk" factor that some games titles have.

just completed this today, does get quite annoying having to replay the same thing over and over again until you get it right

overall, it was a interesting game to play, not being all godly managing to take 20 bullets til you die

Well, I'm running a trainer on it and it still gets confusing to me as to where to go next even if I don't have to bother about health etc!!!

what happened to that mod thing that was comming out for this game, some kind of big crazy skill test level (think of UT trial maps)

theres a key to face you in the right direction i think its left ALT

Yep, knew about that but sometimes even it can be a wee bit vague about exactly where you need to go next.

What type of game is Mirror's Edge? Like Call of Duty 5 or STALKER or err Doom?

Neither.

It is about as close to a 3D platformer of the old style side scrolling platformer as you'll get. You can complete the game without picking up a gun.

Lots of jumping, wall running, hanging from pipes, leaping across roof tops in a glorious city scape... quite satisfying when you get the knack as you can link it all together in a smooth run through a level.

One of the better more original games I have played in a long long time.

You mean the bit where it's a cutscene and it in no way explains to you that you're going to have to disarm him... It flashes red.

I wouldn't go as far as to call it "stupid" , that's maybe a wee bit harsh.

Frustrating game, yeah.
