Right well i went for my interview today and turns out the "imported american goods" they sell are kirby vacum cleaners!!!
Interview went all right and they said they would ring me back later this evening with possiblity of 2nd interview monday. Now for the annoying part.
The job i applied for was "Delivery driver" No where in the advertisement does it say it will include any sales. The guy also never mentioned it but kinda beat around the bush "ull be dealing with domesticated customers."
The money was good buuut the hours could be upto 65-70 a week! Although u get paid more for that its still a bit excessive.
I googled info on kirby salesmen and on wikipedia i found this.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kirby_Corporation
It says
"Some recent complaints have also arisen from the strategies that some distributors use to recruit new dealers. Often advertisements will reference "Assembly/Customer Service $2000/month" even though the job consists of little assembly or customer service. The new dealer is guaranteed $2000 for their first month only, relying on commission thereafter. Prospective dealers are often not told of the door-to-door nature of the business until the first day of training."
Now the place i went to was on a short term 2 week lease which means they will be gone in 2 weeks!
Surely what they are doing is illegal? They are totally misleading people into a completley diff job role! The guy wasnt even open about it!
