ok, i got 4 gigs of XMS2 with a evga 680i board in a seperate rig.... on post it shows that there is 775mhz... when these are 6400C4 800mhz ram, now, i overclocked them to 1000 and it still showed 995mhz.... where on earth has the 5 mhz gone? lol

latest bios, anyone have any idea what this could be?

lol, bios says 996 (when ive set it to 1000) and cpuz is saying 498.2 (x2 = 996.4, which is same reading as mobo) and also, i first noticed it as on post details (disabled logo as i like to see what clocks my pc is running at just incase of situations like this) and it also says 996.

this is oh so very odd.

Ah, I see it now. On the 680i chipset, when you are not running synch, the chipset uses an algorithm to compute the memory speed. So, it's not always going to be EXACTLY as set. If you want to correct, bump your FSB speed a couple of bumps and it will even out.
