I recently upgraded to a Samsung 840pro SSD and have stuck win8 on it.
Everything has been fine for a few weeks until the last few days where it fails to boot and displays a "bootmgr is missing" message.
I have tried booting from the win8 disk run the below once already.
bootrec /FixBoot
bootrec /RebuildBcd
When getting the message I have been able to restart and it works straight away with out any intervention, but i'm concerned something sinister is going on.
i do have a couple of other hard drives connected, one of which is my old win7 image, i was about to format it and use it as a data drive. would this cause a conflict?
is it worth performing a chkdsk on the ssd?
would be grateful of any suggestions.
cheers,
syn
