HI,

I can dual boot on my comp using both xp and vista 64, can play bioshock on xp fine, no probs at all, but i want to see the diff between dx9 and dx10.

Thats were my prob start, firstly when i installed bs on vista I couldnt get the game to load with a 'bioshock.exe has stopped working' error. I managed to fix that as i noticed that there was a dx folder in my xp install that wasnt in my vista install, copied the folder across and tried again in vista and a dx install prompt came up, installed it and wala could play the game in vista.

Only to get into the game for it to look like this

Things I have tried:

I have installed the latest 7.8 cats (running driver cleaner, other games still ok)

I have installed the latest dx updates, aug 2007 being latest

I have tried both dx10 settings off and on in the game menu.

I have tried the force lighting setting off and on.

Complete reinstall of Bioshock.

I really cant think what else to do, although i heard there was like some sort of hotfix for the 7.8's but not sure were they are, what they actually do and what to do with them.

any help i'd be greatful.

Ta CaNNoN.

Thanks a lot, I'll try them right now, what do I actually do with them, never added a hotfix to a set of drivers before.

I edited my original post, but you probably won't notice now, simply install them like you would with a new set of drivers :)

EDIT: You can do it either way, I personally just use the 'update' button.
