missing free hard drive space where has it gone?

my boys pc has a 500 gig hdd installed

currently it has a win7 install and a couple of games (nothing fancy)

free space is only 5 gigs

cleared the recycle bin and all the cache restore points etc and i now have a whopping 12 gigs free

any suggestions where i might have lost the missing 500 or so gigs?

went into folder options set it to display hidden folders and nothing showing up in my c: drive

open c: and select all adn i only have then properties and I only have 70 gig or so of files

sounds as if some one has partitioned the hdd, do you have a d: drive?

nope no partition as only access my boy has is through a locked down account with no admin rights its a head scratcher

Gives a breakdown of where space is being used, on the diagram it might show as one huge box taking most the space.

cnet provided a bit of software to give me a folder by folder breakdown

turns out 102 dalmations had a 512 gig install
