Just used partition magic to move windows partition to front of drive and take the space either side of that partition and merge it into one partition. Restarted and now computer says missing hal.dll file - please reinstall that file but how do i do that or is it just format disk and start over?

I can give you a copy of the file... but are you familiar with the term "partition tragic"?
