I can’t quite understand where a large chunk of my HDD space on my Vista drive has gone?

Also what’s strange is that the folder windows was created in 2006  I only installed the 64bit version in October?

I’ve got the Beta SP1 installed btw (Version 6.0.6001 Service Pack 1, v.668 Build 6001)

Is there a 4GB hibersi.sys file in the root? (by default it's one) Show hidden/system. Do you have system restore, where are the restore points and how many?

Service Pack always keeps a backup version, so that's another few hundred MB on top.

Then you have a 4GB pagefile.

Hi, restore feature is turned off from day one so there isn’t any restore points that’s true about the service pack but there is about 60/70Gb missing? Only hidden folders I can see are only 500Mb these are MSOCache & Programme data.

My friend had this problem. It was because when he installed vista it had saved a fair chunk of his old OS files (eg. doccuments/program files etc) on the hdd somewhere. Not saying its your problem but it was in his case.
