Hi,

In Vista, in the User profile I have some missing folders - namely Pictures and Downloads.

I can recreate the folder in the C:\Users\Name\ directory, but then I cannot change the target for them, as it's just a normal folder.

What's the best method of restoring them?

Enable them on the start menu? Then use that to navigate, work from there?

Pictures is enabled on the start menu, but nothing happens when you click it. And you can't enable Downloads on the start menu either :S

Edit: Sorted it now, settings are in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders

Or right-click the option on the start menu and click properties - there's a tab in there that allows you to change the location.

It wouldn't let me as there was no pictures or downloads folder, you could right click on the pictures option from the start menu but there were no options.

It was mainly caused by me changing their locations the normal way, then messing around with drive letters :p
