Missing memory?

Evening guys!

Quick problem, newish build that i have hear (3/4 months old)

In my computer properties i see - RAM - 8.0Gb (6.99Gb usable)

Now this wasn't hear when i first built my computer, just noticed it today :confused:

Windows 7 x64.

Any advice guys?

It could be faulty memory. Is the missing memory showing as hardware reserved in performance monitor.

Are you using more then one bank of memory?

Are you using 8GB of memory? If so then it is fine. Windows running uses memory which is why it is not reccomended to have a 64 bit winvows on 4GB RAM.

Try:

1) run msconfig

2) click on the boot tab

3) click on advanced options

4) make sure the maximum memory box isn't ticked
