Missing notification sound files Samsung S7

I wonder if anyone can solve this issue. My neighbours son has just updated his Sammy S7 to Oreo. He's noticed that the only sounds in the settings 'sound and vibrations' is 'default notification sound' 'silent', 'facebook pop' and 'hangouts message'.

All the other 30 or so sounds are missing, just white empty space. He says he's never used hangouts so doubt that is the issue. I've had a look and totally baffled. I have the S7 myself and just can't see anything in his settings that's any different to mine.

Whether the sounds were missing prior to Oreo I cannot say but it is a real puzzle.

Although this may end up duplicating them he could download the default sound files and put them in the Notifications folder in the internal storage. If there isn't a Notifications folder then creating one is usually enough for it to be recognised.

If they do end up duplicated at some point then all he needs to do is delete the ones added to the Notification folder and they then disappear from the selection options.

I'm sure Samsung hide these files somewhere. Having gone through the folders on my own S7 both the notifications folder is empty along with the ringtones. The same applies on my SD card and yet I have all the notifications etc. so not sure where they are hiding. I used the stock Samsung 'My Files' app to look through the system folders.
