Missing posts

Having just made a post a couple of minutes ago when I looked at my post it was showing me with around 164 posts, last time I posted here I had just over 400, does anyone have any idea why my posts count has dropped by over 250 posts?
Im pretty sure I read somewhere that larger threads were being archived but surely this should not affect user posts counts?

To my knowledge post count goes get adjusted if large spam threads are removed or archived.

I could be totally wrong though but I am sure I read that somewhere.

Anyway post count doesn't really matter. It should not be used as a willy wagging tool and the health and operation of the forum is more important.

If large spam threads start to jeopardise the functionality of the forums then I believe they gotta' go.

A major drop is usually indicative of a "punishment pruning", or it could be you've lost loads of posts to a couple of big archived threads.

The 'This Instant And Moment Thread' was accidently deleted by some drunken mod the other day. Hence the post count drops people got who posted in it.

Glad I never bothered with it.

Yes your quite right and why would someone with just under 500 posts on this forum worry about "willy wagging" their post count, I was thinking more along the lines of I now lose my free shipping as I am under the required number, but thanks for the input.

Yes I did use that quite a lot in the past, I would have thought that a forum archive would not prune post counts though

It was drunkenly deleted(I mean strategically moderated

) not archived afaik.

Why are people so bothered about post counts? If a big thread gets deleted and you have posted say 50 posts then yes you will lose those 50 post count.

Could be slightly annoying if you were hoping to gain entry to the MM.

Me and acme were the biggest causalities from that, I lost 1500 posts of my 4000.

It wasn't accidentally deleted. And the mod that pressed the button wasn't 'some drunken mod'. And I'm not saying who pressed the button, but it wasn't me I'm afraid!

I normally skim through the forums a couple of times a day and read what catches my eye so I had never really noticed it until I posted a couple of minutes ago.

So instead why not PM a mod and ask about that? Or even hint at that in your OP?

If he/she wasn't 'drunken' then maybe a trip to Specsavers would benefit them.

, I didnt just make the posts to get the free shipping but it was certainly a great option to have.
I just wondered if it had been a forum bug or something before I started bugging people, I was looking to try and order a new CPU but that looks like its on hold so that I can spam you lot with more irrelevant posts.
