missing sound

sorry if this is the wrong place for this thread, but can someone help me?

Im having an issue with sound on my PC. I can not get sound to work with any web browser I use (IE9, chrome or firefox), but yet it works fine on other programs. can someone help fix this for me?

If it's windows 7, click on the sound Icon and go to mixer (while browser is open) and see if there are any extra volume controls for it

it is windows 7, and ive just tried your solution, but there is no extra icon(s) for sound in the mixer option when i have any and all 3 browser open.

Go to Control Panel and then Internet Options. Once in there, click on Advanced Tab and scroll down to 'Multimedia' and see if any of the options to play sounds/animations is unticked.

If that dont work, then ill see what else I can dig up

Play sounds had been ticked all along.
