Just tried to attach a 2½ IDE laptop drive via a USB enclosure to my machine. Windows picked up the drive, saw the usb-ide bridge, and told me it was ready to use. But I can't find it

I can see it in the 'stop devices' window, but there's not sign of it in the Disk Management section (it probably needs formatting but I can't find it in the management tools to do this.

A screen shot of the usb drive in the 'stop device' window and the Drive management window is below - C through H are my normal drives, G and I are Dvd-Drives, but no sign of the USB drive - Any ideas?

Nope - the only things in 'Removable Storage' are the DVD drives.

On the plus side - it started working - plugged it in again and it came up ready to use - just reformatted and everything is fine - guess it just needed a nudge!
(And no - it's still not in 'removable storage' ;) )
