I have looked around for reviews as i have seen these second hand. I was wondering if they are really a good as i have read?
How do they compare now days?
Would i be better spending double to get the M31i's or a bit more and getting the M30's or even something from Mourdant Short or Wharfdale?

No AMP to pair them with as of yet (prolly go for a Denon or Yamaha if i can find a good one s/h) but have just got a Mourdant Short MS308 sub.

I use to have some Mission M72 speakers and they blew me away. Get them and you'll love them :)

p.s I used a denon amp also.

Used to have the m72s too, very good. You'll be happy with the m71's. They can be picked up pretty cheap 2nd hand. Look out for the "i" version too.

thanks for the replies guys.
bit annoyed now though, they were a good price but i have measured up and they won't fit on my shelves! They are too tall so i am gonna have to go for something more compact like the M30i/M31i or the Mordaunt Short 302's.

:o
thats cheaper than i've seen them s/h!!
Joey i would ask Eliot (so long as they are not a competitor) as the ones i saw were gonna be £50 del. (though you can haggle that down no doubt) off of someone on AVForums.

As for linking to a DVD player, you will probably need an amp/reciever to drive them, i doubt any DVD player will have the right connections to directly connect the speakers up.

oh it will eb used with a sonic impact t amp so its all good, but are they bassy etc?
i saw them on fleabay

I've got their bigger brother the M73, very very nice speakers, love em with my Yamaha Amp and Marantz CD player. They have plenty of bass for my tastes, sometimes you need that thumping bass of The Prodigy and they do it for me.

m71's are stonking. extreamly good entry level bookshelfs and for that sort of money dont hang around. get them - you wont be dissapointed. dont expect them to have masses of bass, but they are very accurate and detailed at the bottom end.

all i want is for the bombs in star wars aotc when there in space to scare me like it did in the pictures. i realise they arent gonna shake my room tho
i was also going to plug the zen vision m into them

lol ok REPRASE, will they be a far mile better than the speakers in my tv and will i hear stuff in a film i maybe didnt hear before

how much is that gonna be? im tempted to get the acoutic energy aego ms and connect them to the tv atm (has a headphone out)

The M71s will be loads better.

Don't bother with a sub, you'll be very impressed with the bass that the m71's have. A cheap sub probably won't improve the sound, although it would help to add the thudding and farting noises in films.
