Been on here a couple years just lurking and I can't believe my first post is about double glazing and not the 4070 TI I just bought...

Anyway, one of my double glazed windows has moisture inside it so I'm guess the seal failed. Is DIY an option here or should I just call someone in? I was wondering if I could prise the beading off and remove the panel then replace it myself. More hassle than it's worth?

Ta!

Yea it's a fairly easy diy job.

Like you say just pop the internal beading off, remove the existing panel and replace with new.

Just be mindful of the weight if a larger panel and make sure the replacement is the same size, thickness etc.

Cheers!

There's a part number printed between the two glazing panels on the aluminium(?) bit so maybe I could get an identical panel. I've removed the silicon from the beading and had a little go with a fine chisel and it looks like it'll come off easily enough, guessing it's secured by the silicon. Now I just need some glass.

I'm oop North lockers, Lancs/Yorks border.

Ah I just found this quote thing online for a local firm and it reckons £76 fitted, so if that's right it'd have to be quite a bit cheaper for just the glass for me to risk doing it myself I reckon. I thought it'd be upwards of £150 to be honest.

Edit:

Can't imagine these prices are current but if they are, happy days. Or if I can get the glass for £50 I'm doing it meself :D

I'm also in NW, would you mind telling me who? I got a quote for just the glass and to be honest I'd be better getting someone in if the prices I'm being quoted are anything to go by.
