Well they look like a fair idea but i'm not really sure what they would bring you over a proper laptop. Sure you could choose your own processor and RAM but I doubt it would end up saving you much money in the end.

If I was you i'd just buy a proper laptop, if you shop around you can get some really good deals. :)
 
asus do some think like that now where you can buy or own gfx card, cpu, mem, and so on.

but your talking 1k just for the laptop with out the bits lol. nice idea but
really costy :)
