Hi
I am after an mitx build and the smaller the case the better i am thinking of the fr03 mini and maybe modding it to put an atx power supply in if need be
But as long as the case is small i am open to any design because the case will be hidden/out of view
I want to play games like borderlands 2, the walking dead etc
And i am not bothered if not getting 120fps etc as long as its smooth and will only be played on my 22" tv in bedroom

Budget is prob about £650
I have a windows 7 license, xbox 360 controller, wireless mouse/keyboard, i also have an 120gb ssd for the os and a 2.5" 500gb for games and dont want a dvd drive

This pc would be used exclusively for games
Any help appreciated guys :)

Im thinking of getting the evga hadron, got a built in psu so that is sorted
Not interested in overclocking but was undecided if an i3 would be suitable or should i go i5?
Also a lot of mitx boards only have pcie 2.0 x16 as opposed to pcie 3.0 x16, will i lose any speed etc by dropping to 2.0 or is there minimal difference?
Also would like to stay with nvidia if getting a graphic card

The case I suggested has a PSU already too  The Hadron is needlessly overpriced for your needs and relatively large for an mITX case.

The mITX board I suggested is also PCI-E 3.0. If you want to stay with nVIDIA:

Kept the Pentium G K series because it's basically a Core i3 and the K series is basically the same price as the others and can be overclocked in the future.

If you really do want to spend £200 more that you won't ever see in terms of performance gains:

I've played Borderlands 2 on previous PC and the replacement re-using same graphics card and SSD.

On Core2Duo E8400 the wormhole effect when entered the game looked pixelated and stuttered. On current i5-4570S CPU it is sharp and as I would have expected.

My Asus H81i-plus mini-itx motherboard is Gen 2 PCI Express so I wouldn't worry too much about gen 3 for your requirements. But I am using a Radeon 6850 1GB so not stretching system.

Edit: This is at 1680x1050 resolution.

Hi
I can get the hadron for £105 from bolton, so would get that
And is getting a z97 mobo be overkill considering i dont want to overclock?
Was looking at the h81i-plus (thanks bane^) so could get that if the pcie 2.0 vs pcie 3.0 aint an issue

Do like those builds though but having a look might get the 2 x 4gb ddr1600 deal for £55.99

Think the Gigabyte Z97 is being listed as its cheaper than Gigabyte's H97, and Asus's H97 on Overclockers. And MSI H97 is out of stock.

It shouldn't be an issue. The latest graphics cards don't make full use of the bandwidth of PCI-E 2.0, let alone 3.0. The H81I-Plus is around £50 but you'll have to update the BIOS probably so it supports the newer Intel CPUs depending on which one you get.

Well was reading reports on the hadron psu being very noisy so scrapped that, because this pc will be in the bedroom
Not that small but my brother (wanderer89 on here) as given me his bitfenix prodigy.
So what you guys reckon to this, this should play borderlands ok right?

Edit ordered that now, but went with the 770 instead and got the free borderlands pre-sequel
Perhaps overkill for what i need, but it shouldnt work as hard for what ill be playing at

Not looked at PSU's but 600W seems overkill for your system. I'm using a Silverstone 300W in a SG05 case, but look higher wattage for yourself. No idea which brand to recommend.

If I was buying itx motherboard again I would look at one with wi-fi card included (if you use wireless) to avoid using USB adaptor.

Do you plan to stick with Intel stock cooler? As CPU socket position will affect models available, and some motherboards have better positioned sockets allowing for larger coolers.

I like to go a bit OTT for power supplies, better to be safe i reckon

I have ran a lan/ethernet cable to loft area for cctv etc so i just come off an switch and ran a cable to my bedroom, so no need for wireless :)

I forgot i had a spare arctic freezer i11 cpu cooler (was in loft) so will pop that onto the cpu

Re hadron psu

Mines is silent unless you put it under serious load ie benching and heavy 3d work

Other than that not a peep

Just seen the picture of your orange Prodigy in the gallery thread. Looks nice.

Thanks
When brother said i could have it for nothing, i jumped at it
Seem to have some coil whine at the moment, just need to determine if my power supply or the 770 is causing it
