Hi guys gals,
Im looking to build my own streamer, ive been looking online at others and i cant find one that actually does what i want it to do, so i figre why not just build my own...


All media is on my standard PC so i do not need it to hold any data.
i have a 60gb SSD that i will use to boot with anyways.

Looking to keep it as cheap as possible, but good. So i dont want to go to cheap and then have issues.

i need it to run XBMC i wont be using windows on it as i dont need any of that rubbish i may go android OS yet not sure.

Most of my films are in 1080p either MKV or M4V
Lots of music too but i can reconvert all of those to cope.

So spec me what i need and keep it reasonable..... but good.
 
I bought a Arctic Cooling Media Center unit and that works perfectly for me. Dual core Atom with dedicated GPU. Running Openelec with XBMC and does not have any issues with 720/1080p :)

If you want to build your own I would maybe suggest a AMD A4-5300 with board and nice tiny chassis and you should be good to go :)
