I'm looking to add a second GB of RAM to my machine as City of Villains appears to be a real memory hog :(

Currently I have 2x512 Crucial Ballistix running on an ASUS A8N-SLI Premium motherboard, but no-one seems to have these in stock.

Would it be make much difference putting in a different brand of RAM? I was looking at the Corsair 1GB DDR XMS3200C2PT TwinX (2x512MB) CAS2 to add in alongside the Ballistix.

Cheers,
Nick

I know it works, although I wouldnt recommend it as it could cause some issues.

Although im not 100%.

I'd be inclined to sell your existing ram & buy a cheap 2 gb set. possibly second hand if you're looking to save money.

^^ What he said :)
To avoid possible issues and illiminate potential nightmares finding other probs.
It's what i did then at least if you have a matched pair you can usually discount this from problem solving with a quick memtest. Also less slots used.
Its a win win.

Yeah I was beginning to think that.

For about 140 quid what would be good RAM for an ASUS A8N SLI Premium board with an AMD 64 X2 3800? (2x1GB PC3200)

Cheers...

(ninja edit.... I'm not that bothered about O/Cing or anything, just want to get some reasonable performance)
