Mixed media disc - eh?

Howdy,

I have just got my xbox 360. I thought I would see how my archive of HD wmvs played on it. I burnt a DVD full of them, only to be presented with "Mixed Media Disc".

I have not yet connected it to my LAN, so does it need a dashboard update or something?

yes. The recent dashboard update (the one that enables 1080p) added WMV support, I think.

Just wondering ive got a load of avi files on the pc, if i could convert them to wmv and burn them to disc. Would they play ok on the 360? O and any one know the best software to do so?

Just got the latest download, plays wmvs just fine :-)

Hopefully they will add support for mpg and avi soon :-)

lol just tried a wmv hd file myself. T2 infact and wow played back so much better than my pc. Just need sp2 so I can hook it up to the pc without buring all the time.
