I'm finally getting around to replacing my crappy electric shower (some el cheapo low kw Triton thing the previous owners had put in). It's OK in the summer months but when the temperature drops, the flow rate reduces to a tiny trickle.

I've currently got a combi boiler and was thinking that instead of going for a higher kw electric shower and having to get an electrician into rewire, I'd go for a mixer shower and do it myself. However I'm having trouble finding out if my boiler is up to the job. I don't want to swap it out and find it's no better than my current electric one.

The boiler is a Main Combi 24he capable of 11.5l/min at 30C rise and 9.8l/min at 35C rise. Is this going to be enough?

Our current shower works perfectly well and chucks out water at around 9-10 liters a minute, so your combi should be able to match that, depending on how cold the water is and how hot you like the shower. Rember to make sure no one else turns on a hot tap while you're in the shower though as it'll go cold!

That's good to know, thanks! I'm the only person in my house so no danger of someone else turning at tap on currently!

Those Aqualisa showers do look quite good, definitely added them to my shortlist! :D
