Mixing 2 Types of Memory

Morning all,

I am trying to upgrade/make use of what I have rather than remove and replace.

I bought these sticks around 18 months ago (2 x 8mb)

I wanted to increase to 32gb ... can I mix another 16mb or it just won't work?

Will I get value here or am I just better off biting the bullet and replacing for 2 x 16gb.
