Hey guys. I've been looking at getting another gtx 470 recently but the current offers on the 580 look so tempting. Is it ok for me mix these two cards together and run them sli?

A bit concerned about power draw. How about an overclocked 560?

Thanks :)

No doubt that the best performance/price upgrade is another GTX470. Don't see why you would ditch that card now.

What is your PSU? A decent 700W at least is really what's required.

You will have no issues with running 2 x GTX470s in SLi if you have the OCZ700W. I spoke to OcUK with this exact question a few months back and they assured me you can happily run them fine.

Would there be any use in him getting the 580 and using the 470 for physx?

Oh wait, just saw the bit about being concerned re. power usage. Ignore me.

Just throwing this in even though he probably won't do it. You can mix and match cards on the new fuzion motherboards can't you, the scaling not that good though.
