Mixing Fans

I have a Noctua 2000rpm industrial fan. It runs fine, but if I use a Y splitter and add a Corsair PWM fan then the Noctua stops. If run 2 Noctua then they are fine, but it seems if I mix Noctua with Corsair then only the Corsair will spin.

Is this normal?

Nope that's really weird. Have you tried raising the PWM duty cycle? Just speculating. I know there are some PWM fans that are programmed to stop at low duty cycles...

What rpm is the corsair fan?

I think the Corsairs are SP120 high performance, so around 2200 rpm.

Odd I run a mix of SP120 and other fans and not having issues granted I use a Phanteks fan hub not y splitters.

Well, I've swapped the Corsair out for another couple of Noctua that I have and now it all works.

Not only this, but different fans of the same model will have slightly different stalling speeds for starting the fan.
