hey all
i made a ballsup and ended up buying some ecc registered ddr2 off ebay and i cant return it.
so im looking for some dde2 memory for a GA-m720-us3

some guys offered me some 1gb 667mhz pny ram for a £5 but if i want to upgrade does all the ram have to be the same make?
obviously it all has to run at the same clock speed.

Ideally , you would like them to be matched sets for optimal compatibility and effectiveness. Especially if attempting an overclock or such.

Though if the board will be compatible you can use mixed modules. Though the system will step down to the lowest speed of the modules installed. For safety and stability i would keep it this way.

Your probably better in the long run , selling of these EEC modules and what your already have and getting some new DDR2 along the line. like 2 or 4GB if your system can take it.

Take care
