Whenever I've bought memory, I've always bought the same type and same size.
Now I've got a laptop with 512mb, but my fx card takes up 256 of it.
Can i stick in say, and extra 1 or 2gb

Also, how can i find out what my memory is with regards to 2100, 2700, 3200 - is that speed or something?

On the site where i bought the laptop the memory spec says the following:
512MB of DDR2 533/667 MHz memory, upgradeable to 4 GB4 using two soDIMM modules (dual-channel support)

Cheers

I always assumed that only one slot was occupied - mainly as i could've got an extra 512mb when i bought the laptop. But at the time couldn't afford to. Anyway i opened up the laptop and there is a slot free.

Then a ran CPU-Z <-Thanks for that, and realised it didnt need to open it up :p

Max Bandwidth: PC2-4300, so assume 4200 is the memory i am looking for!

£35 quid for 1gb of Corsair :) Excellent, think ill just buy one of those, and if doesnt work with the 512, well then ill buy another gig at some point.

Thanks
