I am currently buying bits for my new WC setup. Purchased a couple of heater cores from ebay, and ehiem pump. The heater core are made from aluminium while cpu blocks are copper. Will this metal mix cause adverse effects?

thanks.

I now have a copper block, 2 aluminium heater cores and a thermochill pa120.3 (copper?). Not sure how much of a dangerous mix this is in terms of corrosion. Should i dump the heater cores and just use the thermochill? Or will anti corrosion addative stop the corrosion?

anti corosion additives will help.

even a good dose only slows the effect tho.
then again, my friend has been using an alu heater core and copper maze 3 for several years, the maze 3 is starting to get discoloured and looking a bit worse for ware, but not horribly so, and performance isnt hurt.

Do you actually need the heater cores along with a PA120.3?

You can mix them but will need preventative addatives as stated and more frequent maintenance.
