Mixing RAM brands?

My old computer is currently residing in the attic and I'm wondering if a memory upgrade will be worth it.

Currently it has an E8400 processor, P5Q SE motherboard, 4gb of Corsair (2x2gb DDR2 XMS2 1066Mhz) RAM and a Radeon 4850 (I think) in it.

I'm thinking of getting another couple of sticks to boost the overall memory to 8Gb.

Will this be a worthwhile upgrade?

Yes you can mix ram brands.

Is it a worthwhile upgrade, depends on your budget and what you are going to use the PC for.

Mixing might not be best oc wise but seeing as it probably wont be itll be fine

Thanks for the responses, I'm planning to use it for things like CAD (nothing too intensive) so it might be a good upgrade if I can get hold of the memory cheaply.

get the Samsung OEM RAM if you can, it has a superior OC perfomance and they are very cheap. I oc it from 1333mhz to 2133mhz very easily.
