Mixing RAM speeds

OK maybe a silly question, but I'm just after conformation of what I think I is right.

Now I'd like to upgrade my memory as I'm using Vista Ultimate now and it hogs ram like a fat bird at a cake party. I found that VU uses about 300-700mb just browsing and running different apps etc. So upgraded to 2gb of PC2-5400 (667mhz) ram, sweet, but when running some games (FEAR) the rams at 85-100% capacity. So I'd like to get an extra 2gb.... I've seen some cheap PC2-6400 800mhz of the same brand & type.

Will the 6400 ram work in my mobo but at 667mhz which is the max speed my mobo is rated to, rather then 800mhz, or will it not be recognised?
I've got a funny feeling that it'll work but at the lesser speed (similar to mixing ram speeds with in the mobos capability, but all installed ram will run at the speed of the lowest rated stick installed...)

Thanks in advance =)

Yeah the faster memory will run at the lower speed.

Is it the same model as you currently have (other than being rated to PC6400)?

Yea exact same brand and model, just the ones I've seen are the higher speed (figure they'll be slight investment for the future mobo upgrade ;) )
