quick question for you as im useless with this sort of thing

i have a new pc with 1gb of DDR2 PC-4200

can i put DDR PC-3200 with this to make 2gb or will it just refuse to work

if i can will it give any real benefit or would it actually hinder performance

PC sped is Athlon64 x2 3800+
1gb DDR2 PC 4200
7600GT PCI-e
Acer EM61SM/EM61PM motherboard

Thanks in advance

yes and in regards to the DUAL-Vsta boards and the p4v800d-x board by asus and the likes, i expect you choose one or the other in the bios, and thats it. I honestly doubt any northbridges could handle two sets of different ram standards at the same time lol.

woulnt the real danger be the voltages..... if the mobo fed DDR volts into DDR2....... BANG! and DDR2 into DDR wouldnt even boot.
