mixing RAM?

Hi, i recently replaced my 2x 512 sticks of Crucial Ballistix RAM, i bought 2 sticks of 1GB Corsair and now I have found out there is nothing wrong with the Crucial stuff... is it ok to fill all 4 slots on my motherboard to make 3GB RAM? I have a feeling you cant but im just checking before I try anything

You can mix RAM but it will run at the speed of the slowest stick, it's a weakest-link sorta deal. Also, some Athlon 64s balk at the prospect of running 4 DIMMs and in general you get lower performance from running 4 sticks in comparison to running 2.

But it should work.
