Hi,

currently running window 7 and a pair of 1GB ram

now I bought a pair of 2x2Gb of ram, should I run just 2x2gb or should I fill all 4 slot and run 2x1gb + 2x2gb?

2x1gb ram is 5-5-5-5-15
2x2Gb ram is 4-4-4-12

any one?

Should work but at the higher latency 5-5-5-515
you may have to configure the RAM yourself if AUTO doesn't work. Try it and see - it'll soon tell you if it's not happy.

your rig will see little benefit from 6gb, I'd just sell off the 2gb kit and try to recoup some money.

I put in the new set of ram and run it along side with the old OCZ pair. after playing CCS for 2 hours win7 give me BSOD. Since then I can't get it to work again, tried everything, flash to latest MB BIOS, clear CMOS etc.

so far I can run my OCZ ram as normal + one of the new Patriot ram in any config. As soon as I use the suspected faulty patriot ram the system refuse to boot and give me blank black screen......

It's odd that the ram worked fine for 2 hours and then now not at all. Have you tried the suspected faulty stick by itself in different slots?

You may be unlucky and have a faulty kit...if so RMA it to whoever sold it. Otherwise Patriot do have a lifetime warranty. You have to then post to the Netherlands but I've just gone through a RMA with them and the whole thing was dealt with very well. Just as well as OCZ have treated me in the past.
