Hi all,

I'm in the process of deciding an upgrade to my current pc.

at the moment I have some G.Skill Ripjaw 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 1600MHz Dual Channel ram which has timings of 8-8-8-24

I'm after adding some more and was looking at this

YOUR BASKET
1 x Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (BLT2CP4G3D1608DT2TXOBCEU) (Orange & Blue Activity LEDs) **WORLD FIRST** £65.99
Total : £74.69 (includes shipping : £7.25).

it has the same timings as my g.skill, will it run okay with it?
or would it be better just to ditch the g.skill and stick with the 8gb of crucial on its own.
Obviously i'd rather not ditch the g.skill and have 12gb of ram if possible.

I'm on my phone at the moment so not easy to look at the specs, but does the operating voltages match? If you're only gaming, 8GB will be fine.
I've just removed 6GB from my machine (leaving me 8GB) and haven't noticed any difference in general use.
I removed the 6GB as the OCZ voltages were different to the Corsair sticks, which is why (I think) I was having trouble getting a stable over clock.

the voltage of my g.skill ram is 1.6v

in the spec for the crucial it says 1.50-1.65v

The pc will be used more for video/photo editing but also gaming.
