Alright guys,

I currently have OCZ Platinum 4gb DDR3 1333mhz RAM (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-224-OC&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1516) and want to upgrade and as the prices of RAM seems to be pretty cheap I want to grab an 8gb set to go with my current 4gb. Only problem is that I don't think OCZ do 2x4gb for the Platinum so I will need to get some different brand ram.

I've been looking at the Kingston HyperX but the Volts seems different? Also been looking at the G.Skill RipJaw ones too (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-053-GS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1516) but will mixing the RAMs be ok? Does it matter that the OCZ CAS timing is 7-7-7-20 whilst the G.Skill is 9-9-9-24?

Cheers.

I'm an Architecture student so I do a lot of 3D modelling, rendering, photoshopping and drafting so the more RAM the better.

I don't overclock so that wouldn't be much of a problem. Will I notice the speed of C9 speed opposed to C7?

You're right though, if I sell my C7 I can put the money towards another 4gb of ram.
