Hi all

Is it wise to?

I have a pair of Alesis M1 Active 520 USB and Edifier S530D and the 530S sound better to me while in my DAW.

Thanks

While Edifier typically have a fairly flat and neutral reproduction I wouldn't have thought the 530s were as good as the Alesis for that when it comes to studio type use. The 530s probably have a bit of colouration which probably makes for a more pleasing listening experience but isn't what you want for editing.

What do you mean sound better, I guess the Edifier's will have more bass but that doesn't mean they're necessarily better.

OK thanks guys and your both right only the color and bass sound better but not overall.

Just make bass heavy music so was going on that only.

Of course a good mix will sound good on any speaker so you could use the Edifier's to test your mixes as I'm sure you do. For the actual production it will be best to stick with the Alesis as it will ensure your mixes can sound good on any system. Then again this depends on how good you are as well :p Also don't underestimate room acoustics, if you haven't already I'd look into it and get some acoustic treatment done if possible.
