Hey all.
This week I got my dad's 2007 Focus MK2 Ghia 2.0 TDCI.
Not the trim I'd have in a perfect world, but at £4000 I snapped his hand off!

The radio looks like this:

It sounds pretty good and the speakers seem fine, but if I can get a sat nav for a reasonable price I would like one.

I have no idea what would fit or if I would need to get a new surrounding trim (although I am not a fan of the wooden one currently in place). I also have no idea if a factory-fitted Focus would have some form of antenna.

Thanks :).

Looks considerably less standard than my 56 plate focus zetec in which I replaced the radio. I think you'll definitely need to investigate the trim thing. Someone may sell an adapter that will fit, but it depends on the actual shape and size of the existing head unit.

Pioneer do a oem fit version of a great head unit for vw. ford and a couple of others.

It is absolutely excellent and I love mine. Mine is the F9210 BT and it has Sat Nav, DVD, Bluetooth, Ipod (inc video), sd card and an absolutely superb media system and sound quality.

Highly recommended, I got mine for £600, it was £1k. They do a newer version which lets you use your ipod apps on the touchscreen. V cool.

Ant

The chinese copy units are generally a compromise. They tend to be buggy and clunky.

The Sat Nav you linked I'm sure is ok, but if you're looking at upgrading your spakers, or you're after a sub, or want vastly improved quality from the stock unit, it's not the way to go.

Whats the budget?

I haven't got a budget in mind at the minute as I simply don't know what to look at. I certainly don't want to be spending £400+ though, but at the minute I am unsure if that is a sensible comment.

If an antenna is required to watch TV, well I am not bothered about that, but the sat nav must work fine. The standard speakers sound very good, but then I am coming from a Micra with door speakers and £25 Argos parcel shelf speakers! I don't think I will bother with a sub.

Well the unit I have in my zafira is superb to be honest and would recommend it to anyone, I have installed IGO primo and it's awesome never loses signal even in Wales :D

The built in hard-drive is cool for recording your CD's, Ipod works with iPhones, I'm VERY happy with mine, Granted mine version is not the same as the one I linked to previously.
