I have an 1994 Mk3 Astra 1.4 and a JVC bog standard cd player and when I first installed it the stereo forgot all the presets everytime the ignition was turned off and did not have any power at 1 click of the key, this morning I decided to try and fix it.
I did a bit of research and found out that the fuse on my JVC HU can be put in two positions and if I move it to the other position the problem will be solved. So I did this, and yes the problem is solved and the cd player remembers the settings but I can now turn on the stereo without the key being in the ignition and when I turn the ignition off it has no effect on the stereo and I have to turn it off manually.
Please help.
