mk3 golf gearbox

Lo all,

Ive finally found a place that has a gearbox for my old 1.4 mk3 golf and only want £100 for it, thing is that they need the code from my current gearbox.

I have no idea where it is.

Anyone know or even better have a pic/instructions on exactly where it is so i dont spend hours under or in the car trying to find it?

Do you have a haynes manual for your golf it should be listed in there. If not try your owners manual thats where i found my gearbox code.
